Home brew Antenna

Just an example of a "new' Ham member doing his
part in experimenting with Antenna construction.

9W2ADC Mohd Khairul has managed to build a "Slim Jim"
antenna using some diagrams available from the internet.

Some fotos on his latest project, taken at Ali Baba on Fri 26May06

Sorry lah. Blame my Phone camera and hand that was shaking!

This shot was better. Antenna connector can be seen
just below Khairul's palm.
Antenna swr at 147.980 mhz read as 1.1:1 &
the needle hardly moved!

We will be trying to make a 6 element Yagi antenna next.

9M2RTB Repeater

For those Amateur radio stations that are on the road
south of KL, can opt to try the 9M2RTB repeater located
in Seremban for their QSO.

This repeater was recently brought back to "life" by
some volunteers from Seremban, who took the trouble to
go up Gunung Telapa Buruk to see what was wrong.

I have been able to trigger that repeater from my home
base using only 5 watts of power.

The frequency to use :

9M2RTB 145.625mhz Offset -0.600 Tone 203.5khz

Here we have our ham who made us Malaysian proud to have contacted ISS crew. I wonder if I could follow his foot steps?

But what are the equiptment setup I need? Err? I got no idea... I wonder a single bander 2 meter VHF rig will do the trick? And what is the antenna to use?

Any idea anyone?

73 for now... need to dig out for more infor to try DXing also with ISS some day....
